Sputtering is likely the plug losing some OOMPH due to wet conditions. Make sure the plug wire is on good. If thats not it,I wouldnt klnow where else to look. Im not that good at lektrical stuff..I know I was soaked to the bone on mine one day & sitting at a light, I could feel it when the plug fired. Soon as my feet were up, no more tingles..

Check all of your electrical connections. It sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere. Mine did the same thing until I had the first service done.

Beach,

With the bike running, hit various areas with a light spray of water from a hose.  If the bike starts missing, you've found your problem.

Good luck.

(A) don't ride in the rain
(B) buy a whoopy cushion

Same "issues" here.

My solution for the PITA has been to raise the front of the seat with rubber washers about an inch, which helps a bit. I think i need to raise it more (I used two 50mm long bolts with two 13/32nds rubber washers (found in the plumbing section as a faucet repair kit..) on each bolt).

As for the rain, the sputter i get isn't bad, but I attribute it to a lot of humidity in the air, and possibly moisture going into the air intake.

I'm probably wrong, but some of our bikes are finicky about the humidity, which is why some people say they get more backfire when it is humid.

Vast quantities of Oxycodone, but I am running out and they are down grading me to Vicodan.
