Title: another carb question Post by jsw1159 on 07/29/09 at 17:21:14 I had instaled a HD muffler about 2 weeks ago, I did the white spacer mod, also I went from stock main #145 to 150, did nothing to pilot jet, and ajusted pilot screw. Rode it around for about week and half ran good other than a little popping on decel. Wanted to check and see how it was running so I pulled plug and found it to be black and sooty. My question is should i go back to 145 main or what. Black sooty plug means running to rich...am I correct on this ..Chould use some expert advise. Thanks |

Title: Re: another carb question Post by T Mack 1 on 07/29/09 at 19:19:31 Which type of HD muffler. OEM take-off? Screaming Eagale (loud)? OEM take off, a 150 should be a good starting point. I agree with Dasch, what did you do to the white spacer. That controls about 1/8 throttle thru 3/4 throttle. That is normally most of your regular riding (well, except maybe Lancer and Sluggo's riding ;) ). |
Title: Re: another carb question Post by jsw1159 on 07/30/09 at 14:38:37 It was an oem take-off, and as far as the white spacer went half the size as orig. |
