Title: Re: does the savage have tubed or tubeless tyres Post by justin_o_guy2 on 07/23/09 at 07:55:47 Run any tire you want. We have rims that leak air, so we have tubes, but a tubeless tire works fine with a tube in it. |

"Installed" can be read 2 ways. Yuo ride the bike in, they pull wheels & reinstall freshly shod wheels, Very spendy. Installed can be, you walk in with wheels in hand & they replace the rubber, much less spendy.. |

Title: Re: does the savage have tubed or tubeless tyres Post by bill67 on 07/23/09 at 09:27:53 I would think if there less than 5 years old,I never changed tubes when I changed tires but they weren't real old. |
Title: Re: does the savage have tubed or tubeless tyres Post by PTRider on 07/23/09 at 11:09:17 If you get a new tube for the rear, consider one with a 90° bent stem. It makes air checks much easier. It might have to be ordered-in for you, but they work well. I have the MT66 Route tires and I like them a lot. Much better than the OEM IRC. |
Title: Re: does the savage have tubed or tubeless tyres Post by Moofed on 07/23/09 at 11:59:54 I've got MT66 tires too. IIRC, the tube-only front tire has fewer plys then the tubeless version. |
Title: Re: does the savage have tubed or tubeless tyres Post by Serowbot on 07/23/09 at 12:31:27 You can reuse tubes,.. if you're Bill... but, ;D It's recommended that you replace the tubes with new tires,.... once they've been inflated for a period of time, they loose elasticity and are more likely to get pinched or inflate a little twisted in the new tire.... I never used to,.. when I rode dirt bikes, 'cause I got flats all the time, but now, I go ahead and replace the tubes too. Definitely get a 90' angle valve stem and tell them to mount it to the brake side... |
