What is the diameter of the stock bars?

Will 7/8" bars fit in the stock risers?

7/8" bars can be made to work on 1" risers. You will have to get or make up shims to account for the diameter difference. They have to be real good because there is alot of "push" on the bars every time you stop.

You will also have to do the same for all the things that mount on the bars..... so it's really not cost effective to use 7/8" bars.

Note: you can not put larger diameter bars on smaller risers.

I considered that..... I will see how close the bars I ordered are to fitting. Also, how they look will play a significant factor as to whether or not I modify the risers.

I ordered a second bar that is 1" just in case. I think lower and wider bars will really make the bike feel good and look much better.

i would like to run 7/8 bars on mine, they seem more comfortable to me. the hassle of getting new levers, throttle assembly, and master cyl. made me change my decision though. (although i do have all the parts to do it) i have heard you can use the old bars as a spacer. cut the piece you need to fit in the riser, split it down the middle, voila!!!
clam shells over the 7/8 bars. again, i have only heard this would work , never tried it.

Give it a shot and let me know how it works. Whats the worst that can happen? It could be a good write up bro.

I considered buying so aluminum bar stock that is 1"wide by 1/16" thick, should be availible at Lowes. I will check.

I might look at building some risers myself. Who knows, lots of possibilities if you are willing to put the work in.

I'd get the bar you want in 1" cut them off at grip then jam in 7/8" bar and pin it to the handlebar
