GREAT pic kevin!

nice car mirror, huh, huh?!  :D

what's the story behind the car mirror lol

Well, SUV blew a red light at an intersection just for the he11 of it
(welcome to mexico) and I had no choice but to quick u-turn and
crash against a center-divider thing and tip over like a cow; the
peg, tank and mirror took the worse of it and I had to change the
handlebars ($40) but I'm alive thanks to the amazing handling of
the savage, I'd be riding a different bike or a heavy harley and I
wouldn't be here typing this. Mirror and peg are fixed now  8-)
tank later, maybe

Awesome looking rides! I can't wait to get mine back together and riding. Then I'll have to have someone take my picture while out and about.

I only have this dorky one of My wife and I riding towards Crazy Horse when we went to Sturgis last year. Some road side camera shop took it. I had no idea what was going on lol.

My bike looks nothing like this anymore either.

I picked up a used flyscreen for a BMW at half the cost of a new one.
Only dif is the mounting as their forks are bigger than ours
The BMW mount had rubber only on one side of the clamp.
So I took the rubber off one side and placed it on the other side.
Perfecto!  Just needed to replace the rubber on the naked side.
Hey I got a grip that I had to cut off, OK, perfect fit.

I like the small size in the summer, and I adjusted it so the wind is off my chest.  But the dam bugs still bounce off me helmet.

I am pretty sure that this is a rim from one of the first versions of the Cagiva Mito.
The only detail that makes me doubt is that the brake is located on the opposite side to where it should be. Watch these pics:

P.S. If you are interested, the rim is for sale. Obviously with brake, caliper and spacers for the caliper.

I pulled the wheel up by accident about a week after getting the bike.  My buddy on his V-star and I were sitting at a light before a mile long bridge.  Nothing was said but we both knew it was on.  On green I cranked on the throttle and the front wheel pulled up, WHOA.  That caught me by surprise.  Also, on a side note, don't race a v-star if you have the stock muffler and don't know the gears yet.  You can't hear your own bike at all  :o

Quite possibly "Urban Legend" tho there is some ( tho I would think very unlikely) science, based on conjecture instead of experimentally determined fact, that the temp differential created inside the battery sitting on cold concrete may affect the life of it.
These are things that can be looked up, online.

Here are some of a fun ride I took with my wife into downtown Kansas City.  She's part of a photography group and they were experimenting with "light painting".  They thought the Savage was a great "prop" and had us "model" for them.  Here are some of our faves:

Thanks, Bill.  And that's after 10 years of marriage and 3 kids!  Still trying to figure out what she's doing with a guy like me.  Skinny, bald, mean and ugly.  Must be the motorcycle and guitars...

Thanks! I'll pass the word.

They're from various members of the Flickr group "Kansas City".  They get together once a month (at least) and practice various techniques and styles.  Skill levels vary from combat correspondents and international photojournalists with Nikon D300s to college kids with $99 point and shoots.  I know you're a photographer- regardless of your region you can network with them and others.  My wife is on flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/baresilver/sets/

Yeah, it was pouring down rain all day in KC and the forecast is through tomorrow morning.  Look forward to seeing some pics from you, FS.

Any idea how they do the "light painting"?  Very cool shots... good-looking couple too!  I love the kiss shot!

Thanks!

They shoot with a very slow shutter speed, we're talking seconds.  They basically leave the shutter open for 10-15 seconds, or manually close it.  No light is put on the subjects, and little colored flashlights/LEDs are used to trace the subjects.  The person tracing can just walk around behind the flashlight, moving rather briskly.

Then once the light-painting is done, they use a flash to illuminate the subject, and then close the shutter.  Tripods are a must! And the subjects have to remain as still as they can.  For the two-phase shot, they use a flash at each pose, then close the shutter.  This may be an oversimplification (I'm not a pro photographer, but my wife says this is basically right.  You can google "light painting".)

After running a 5k, a friend was there taking pictures of her kid so I finally got a picture.

The only "action" shot I have isn't of me or my bike, but I was fairly happy it turned out with the subject (my brother) in the center, and didn't have the top of the windshield in it, considering I was using the camera lefthanded going down the highway! :D

Our trusty steeds: my brother's bike in the middle, a Vulcan 900, a nice ride; he was riding the one on the right, some kinda Honda V-4 engine.  His buddy was on the left one, can't remember what it was.
