Title: Savage Companion CD - Kudos Post by fretman on 07/02/09 at 22:17:40 Greetings - got my Savage companion CD yesterday, and I just wanna give major kudos to Greg DuBois, and any and everyone else involved in putting it together. The pictures and info are spectacular. I haven't started wrenching, yet, but it's high on my list of ambitions. I have the service manual, and having this CD now makes everything seem way more do-able. Thanks! |

It's all pics, TONS of 'em, very hi-res and great detail, and there's text comments on the pics with details, tips, and bits of collected wisdom. Great stuff. |

There is indeed a lot of great stuff in it; stuff you will not find anywhere else on the planet. You want detail ? ? This has detail. ;) |

Title: Re: Savage Companion CD - Kudos Post by FreeSpirit on 07/03/09 at 12:28:40 Thanks guys! I have always thought the pics in the Clymer's Manual were too dark! Especially for someone new to wrenching. And I've been interested in Greg's CD for awhile now. I am convinced, now, to get one! :) |

Yes,Thanks,I've seen that one on eBay,but my instinct was it wouldnt be as good. I personally wouldnt even consider that one. |
Title: Re: Savage Companion CD - Kudos Post by Skid Mark on 07/03/09 at 13:27:15 If you have a Savage, you want the cd. It will give you great pictures of all the parts on the the bike, a great heads up on how it all goes together. This is invaluable when you are doing a 1st attempt at some repair of maintenance. It's $25 very well spent!!! |
Title: Re: Savage Companion CD - Kudos Post by Yonuh Adisi on 07/03/09 at 13:38:27 As soon as I have 25 bucks that ain't doing anything, I plan on getting the CD for myself as well. |
Title: Re: Savage Companion CD - Kudos Post by Digger on 07/08/09 at 21:02:19 I've been wrenchin' on bikes for 39 years now, and I've gotten lots of good use out of the Savage CD. Every time I refer to it, it answers the question I had. It costs less than 20 minutes of dealer labor costs. I love it! |
