Since I have an extra engine, I'm thinking of putting it on a bench stand and trying running it using other than Suzuki stock parts. I'm pretty sure the Duraspark can be used to fire it. I understand Ignition timing can be altered somewhat with resistors. I will try to either build or buy a used Rectifer/Regulator. An auto coil can be used with the Duraspark. A lever can be used for the compression release. If nothing else, it will be a cheap experimental use for the engine.
Anyone have any suggestions or comments? Maybe some of you have pondered using other parts that could be considered!
I even have an extra Exhaust Pipe and Muffler to keep the neighbors at bay if it is successful. What do you think? Gene

What size and make of carbs have any of you seen used on the Savage? That is one of the parts that I will have to aquire! Gene

Gene and lancer - you 2 are not that far apart. I would think lancer would ahve a use for that motor that actually involves using it like a ... motor. Just saying, dunno, its your call you 2, but just saying cos I know are both in my neighborhood.

I think he prefers a 4 speed. I was told that the one that I have is a 5 speed. It's something I'll consider if he is interested and if can decide how much I want and how much he will want to pay. Gene
