Everyone should read this before buying a helmet:

I was gonna write a long winded story about helmet testing but I'll save it for another day when I'm really p1$$ed about something. Helmets in Canada have to have a CSA (Canadian Safety Association - same as DOT) sticker specifying that they have been tested safe. Back in '95 I contacted the CSA and challenged them on their safety testing. After a struggle they admitted in writing that they don't test any helmets. It was up to the manufacturer to supposedly do the testing and then apply to the CSA saying that they have met the standard required. The CSA than sells them the stickers to put on the helmet. What a load.

Here's the British SHARP helmet test routine and their list of helmets tested.

Note that in some cases these helmet lines (or same helmet with a different model name) aren't sold in the U.S. or Canada.
