What is the average lifespan of the Front brakes? Rear brakes?

P.S. ....just changed the Front's this past week.

FRONT.- depends mostly on your riding style,
your weight, type of terrain and quality of
pads (OEM, EBC, kevlar, ceramic, etc).

But I would say about 5 to 7,000 miles;
I inspect and rotate sides on mine about
every 3-4k once, then replace. *OEM's
squeak pretty bad after a while, it's best
to just get new ones once this starts.

REAR.- At least double that, maybe more!

Just did my front ones. Got10,000km off the original pads

The OEM front brake pads on my Savage (see signature) lasted 3500 miles. I replaced them with Ferodo Platinum pads. Those lasted 4100 miles. I replaced those with EBC Organic pads. The EBC pads currently have 2500 miles on them and are still good.

The OEM rear brake shoes on my Savage still have lots of meat left on them.

The OEM front brake pads on my '05 Gold Wing have over 60,000 miles on them and are still good.
