I was scouring the web for some more savage goodness and came across this. I though a few of you would get a good kick out of it!

Wow!  So it's battery powered with an alternator for anytime charging.  Not my cup of tea but pretty dang awesome that Clayton got it all to work.

I was actually thinking of doing that with the 87 frame I used for mock-ups while building the FireLizard, just to see if I could do it.

I didn't read the specs so it was pretty funny for me to see the pullstart on there without knowing why (hey where is the cylinder?!?)

Top speed 65 not too shabby.  That is pretty dang cool - homemade serial hybrid bike.  Think he gets 200mpg?    wowowow

But a range of 25 miles?! No thanks.

dude - 25 miles is battery range only (I think) hmm doesn't sound right, does it...YES! 4 wheelchair batteries built-in, AGM, that's where the 25 mile range energy storage is!   He's got the same gas tank as us, running a 3KW generator.  I hope, I believe he has 200 miles hybrid range easy!  maybe 300 arrgghhh I'm too excited.  You'd have to monitor the charge manually while riding and shut off the generator periodically - kind of a drag but wow anyway

we must find out - I vote for extreme interrogation techniques

ok I have calmed down now.  I think this motor only produces 3HP at 60amps which is near the max output of the generator.  So it can't run continuously at 65mph to its max hybrid range, it would run down the batteries.  CRAP!  Maybe it'll do 40mph continuously or something like that.  So 300+ miles range at 40mph makes sense, now I'd place a bet for 200+mpg too.

Pretty cool project.

25 mile range, still needs work. We need more than 100 miles to get a improvement.
