Title: superbrace/seat Post by haulback on 05/21/09 at 19:54:09 Got home from working on the boat a bit early today, so bolted on my new superbrace and did the good ol' raise-the-seat mod. Then went for a spin. Much better seating position for sure, and once I got on the straightaway wound the bike up to 145 kilometers/hour and - yes Virginia - there is a Santa Claus - the bike is much more stable, no question. As far as the deflectors are concerned, I ground off one corner a hair to match contour of the brace a wee bit better, and as far as I am concerned, they look just fine. Handling is certainly enhanced. |

Title: Re: superbrace/seat Post by PTRider on 05/22/09 at 13:00:41 Tkat "special" (for fender clearance) fork brace $92 delivered. http://www.tkat.com/forkbrace.html Note that SuperBrace has two part numbers for different years of the S/40/Savage, and the parts are identical, according to SuperBrace. http://www.superbrace.com/categories.asp I also found that the fork brace gave me a smoother ride. Apparently there was some fork flex causing sticking of the sliding parts. |
Title: Re: superbrace/seat Post by High-Def on 05/22/09 at 13:10:05 OIC. I do notice some squeeking in the front end. The "flexing" may be the cause. Thanks for the reply. |
