I have a small dent in the S40 1100 mi. gas tank - it's my wifes bike. I earned a tour in the dog house for that one. I'm looking for a leather or vinyl type tank cover - to get out of the dog house... anyone know where I can get one? I've seached all over the net and called a few places like cycle gear and dealers but nothing. I'm not looking for the stick on crotch rocket type tank protector either. A tank cover that covers from the seat half way up the gas tank. Let me know if anyone has one or know where to get one - it's greatly appreciated.

I had a tank bra on my bike but I took it off because it was rubbing through the clear coat and making the paint look foggy-worse that if I had just let it be.

Perhaps a tank bag would work. Magnetic so its easy to remove, and its a handy place to carry stuff

Mine wears a tank "bib". I guess a girl bike would wear a tank "bra".

I got the CL-50 from nelson-rigg and I love it! I'm gunna have maps from Texas to Kalifornia with me on our ride out in a couple of weeks.

It perfectly fits the savage, don't trust that yellow streetbike in the pic. The length runs from the bottom of the tank to just below the speedometer; if it'll cover your dent then I'd give it a whirl. It's not a lot of room, but it'll hold a cell phone, GPS, and 4 state maps and probably a little more. BTW it has a vinyl map pocket on top. That's all I need...and it was only $35.

How true is the rumor that magnetic tank bags can wipe your credit cards if you put your wallet in them? I've thought of getting one, and that one looks spiffy, but I'm concerned about my bank cards, and the wallet is one of the thinfgs I would definately be getting a tank bag for.

Good Feeback - The tank bag may work - heck its the wifes bike and it can be a purse when she stops. ( She's always looking at adding more crap on and specifically more storage) But I was thinking of something more like the pic.. ( That is for an S50 - VL800 ). I can not find it for an S40 / savage. The tanks strips will not cover the small dent off to the side of the tank - but a good tip. - However, the tank cover / bra would- if I can locate one or be pointed to one. Anyone see anything like this for an S40.
( I checked out the links provided and JC whitney - nothing like what I ws looking for )
