I could only get mine to mount one way, it seemed pretty obvious with the two mount holes, just get them to line up without hitting the brace on the inside.

Sorry I deleted the question by accident but I agree that it looks like the shields only go on one way but they just don't look right. They're not symmetrical, at least to my eyes. I thought I was missing something.

They are more to the out side than the inside, but they have to be that way,It does look a like off.

In regards to symmetry, mine look like more is to the outside as well, I wish they'd come up with a better looking guard, but they only make the one. And the reason I didn't buy a TKAT is he didn't offer a guard, so I felt kinda like hey I could have done better than this for $150!   :(

Two photos attached that I found on the internet. On the white bike the shields look quite a bit more squared up then mine and it appears that the 45 degree cutoff is to the inside on the left fork and the outside on the right fork. On the red bike the shields are situated with the 45 degree angle to the outside of the fork, both mind are to the inside.

I've yet to mount my wife's I'll take a pic tonight to show it up close. The fork protectors butt against the hump in the middle when they are mounted like the red bike, so I mounted mine like the white, it seemed the only logical way, maybe my logic is in error.... live long and prosper.

You could grind it down to fit the hump,But then you have to worry about it rusting.

I emailed Superbrace this morning. The shields are universal and are made to fit all the Superbrace models they sell. I guess that explains why they look okay on some bikes and off on others.

Sure don't look very attractive? Are they for protection or do they make the forks more solid? Those that have installed them, how do you feel about them?

They don't make the forks more solid,Its to protect the forks,I've had them on almost 2 years and after a couple days you don't even look at them.

The worst thing for your forks are bug guts.  When bug parts get stuck the fork, they act as sandpaper and file away at your seals.

I C think I'll just keep them clean.

Here are some pics
First is how I mounted them on my superbrace (the one in the pics is the wife's brace. Its getting mounted this weekend).

The second is how I'd rather they looked, but it wouldn't stay flush, and looked to require bending or grinding.

The third is a shot from the back showing how it  doesn't sit flush with the brace.

Yes I wish they looked better, heck I liked the S40 protector better!

Hope this helps!

Remove S/brace protectors, place S/40 protectors on S/brace.
Determine location for 90 degree brace to rivet into S40 protector....
