Title: California Emissions Test Post by Sarge on 05/13/09 at 16:06:47 California is considering implementing emissions testing for motorcycles starting in 2012. Testing would apply to bikes 2000 and newer. When I lived in Arizona several years ago, testing was required there also. Undoing the white spacer and jeting mods, if necessary to pass this test, could be a real PITA. Oh well, a lot can happen between now and 2012. http://www.greencarreports.com/blog/1020520_california-to-require-emissions-testing-for-some-motorcycles :( |
Title: Re: California Emissions Test Post by serowbot on 05/13/09 at 16:32:07 Mine passed here in Tucson with a 150/50# jetting and 2/3 spacer.... They quit bike testing a couple years ago here... HC's 31 HC's allowed 1800 Co's 2.48 Co's allowed 5.50 Turning up the idle about 300 rpm helps a lot... They had to sock the whole muffler to get any reading at all... Nearly suffocated the engine... finally got it to register. They only tested at idle for safety reasons. Super easy to pass... no worries... |
