Some have said theirs have been leaking.  Most likely cause the head bolts are never retorqued.  You'll need to replace the head gasket.

Key issues, retorqueing the bolts w/o breaking them.  Easier just to replace them all.  There's a couple of How-to's in the tech section.  Head plug replacement and cam chain adjuster check that will get you 99% of the way there.

Nothing real difficult.
If you can handle a wrench, got the tools, we can get you through it.
You gottem clymers?
There are a few things in there that'll  :-? you, just explain where you're at and what to do next we can advise you.

I think I'd start with a compression check, as much for a baseline as anything else. At least according to my Clymers, replacing the head gasket will call for removing the engine from the frame. At the very least it will be a time-consuming job.

I have replaced mine before. It wasn't too difficult. It is possible to do it with the engine still in the frame but I had to remove all of the mounting bolts and let the engine lower a little in the frame to get the head off. I will say it is a lot easier to work on the engine with it out of the frame. I didn't feel like it was too hard to get it out either. Having proper tools and a manual is a must though. Got a torque wrench?

I'm on my way out to the garage to pull the head cover for the first time myself.   Never done it on this bike.  But it looks pretty simple.

Good place for a cardboard bolt keeper. Some bolts are different length, keep up with which hole has which bolt.

Well, I didn't make it.  I was heading to the garage (got one attached and one not), felt the sun on me, saw the pond glistening and, well, caught three little bass before LOST came on.
