Where is the best place to get a rebuild kit for my mikuni bs40ss carb, my diaphragm has a rip in it and everything else is getting pretty worn out

You might be able to get a used one cheap on ebay. I just sold mine. Try your local dealerships for rebuild kits. I believe Oneida suzuki online has all the stock parts you could need for the bike.

diaphragms for that carb are very expensive and cost a lot of money to. round about $100 on the ronayers site. you might be better off to consider putting the $ into the mikuni vm option or if your adventurous the mikuni tm40 pumper.

Yeppers, you will just have to do quite a bit of trial and error in terms of tuning. You wanna get at least a UFO if you get the vm carb. My bike pulls soooo much better with the VM and the UFO. Then there is the matter of a custom throttle cable.

the mikuni tm 40 pumper is the hot setup, the only improvement would be the keihin fcr mx type, if it fits. the stock vm is good value but when you start adding extras it will cost as much as the pumper and will never be as good.

Are you new to bikes in general or just this one? If you're not farmiliar with carb work Id hit up ebay. Just rejetting my stock carb is a PITA.
