In a nutshell she REALLY loves her bike...and she REALLY wants to have a solo seat / clean fender look.

I told her that with the amount of work (and cost) I think it may take she'd be better off getting a sportster or something...but no.. she is 5'3, 100lbs, and LOVES her Savage.

So. How would one go about doing that? I have NO skill in this area and would have to find someone to do the build.

I was looking in the galleries and saw this great looking bike.

That is exactly what she wants.

Isn't their some sort of control module under the pillion? I assume that would have to be moved? I imagine a new fender would need to be sourced? Any thoughts on that?

I went searching through the forum but couldn't find any threads on this topic.

ANY insight, ideas, thoughts, recommendations, anything would be greatly appreciated.

thas a stock seat(from a savage anyway) and fender. looks like the holes were filled and the flatspots taken out. a few people have moved the rectifier to the airbox.

Honestly if you have a garage you can do the work yourself.

You can totally remove all the struts, seat, brake lights and rear signals yourself. It would take maximum an hour of work. You would probably need some wood blocks or a bike lift to remove the rear tire in order to best remove the rear fender. As for body work you can do it yourself as well. I did body work on my tank with no experience at all and it turned out very good. The fun thing about the savage is that its sooo much fun (and frustrating) to work because it such a simple bike. I think that most people who bob their bike hide all the wires on under ths solo, but that is the creative process.

She likes it...says it would look even nicer if it was just a solo seat ;)

Buy yourself a spare rear fender, and find a body shop that'll do it for you.

But that fender is probably just filled and smoothed with bondo. That, most people can do.

For the tail light, you can get a cat eye to replace the license plate light and use the stock bracket.

Now I'm thinking that's a stock seat, but it may have some reshaping at the back to make it flatter. You can do that with a hair drier.

hmmm...spare fender.... that might be the best thing. I'll keep an eye ot for one.

Solo seat,with mounting parts,and rear fender about $100.00
Plus paint.
