Title: Okay, up to date photos
Post by Phelonius on 05/07/09 at 16:06:59

This is the Webley Vickers with the Phelonius Phlyer attatched.
In addition to normal maintainance, more than 25 modifications have been made to what was originally an 07  S-40.
It looked to British to be called a Suzuki.

Ah, so that's what Santa rides during the summer.  I knew it had to be something cool like that!

:D

That's an awesome ride you've built.  Great work! I love the name "Phelonius Phlyer".  Very original.

Looks great. Your seat looks like the one I had on a 1951 Harley74

Great looking ride!
I love the name...Webley Vickers "Pock-a-ta, Pock-a-ta Pock-a-ta!
One last British touch...You need a number plate running down the front fender.
Is that a chain oiler running down from the left side?

Way cool ride. Can't show my wife these pics, or I know what my next project will be. "Honey, I want a side car."

Yes that is my own simple chain oiler. In 15 thousand miles, I only had to adjust the chain 4 times.
I thought about a pedestrian slicer, but decided against it. I like the looks of the fender as is.  It does keep a lot of road crud off me and the engine.
The oiler is a chink of brass I turned in a lathe and fitted with a needle valve and some plastic tubing with pvc fitting and a screw top.
I can see the level of the oil through the plastic.
I open the valve one half turn for about 20 miles, then close it for about 50.
The ones you can find on the net cost anywhere from 150 dollars to 250 dollars. I have about 10 dollars all together in this one.
The copper tube ends about 1/2 inch above the lower run of the chain and has a piece of leather on the end of it that paints the oil onto the chain without splatter.
The saddle is 65 Harley panhead.
