I've always been a fan of the look of the springers, not sure what happens to handling characteristics.  While the rake looks cool, I would prefer to keep my maneuverability.  Look forward to seeing how it turns out, no matter which you go with! 8-)

I swear that has to be my old bike,or a very good copy! same muffler, bars, seat everything. It might have made it from Fla. to Pa.

This one was a proper chop.
If you want to cheat on the chopping and do a chopper in say, 1 hour instead of 2 months, fit a KX500 85 or thre abouts front end on it.
21 inch wheel, larger dia forks as well as aluminum wheel.
Better yet, it would take risers and you can run 1 inch bars, you have to make a delrin donut set though, very easy, delrin machines like no body's business.
Cool.
Srinath.

I prefer to keep it at the stock rake.  The Savage/S40 already has a slight forward rake compared to the traditional street bike, and it works pretty well, but going farther out will sacrifice handling capability.

Why not do both?
