Title: Fork Brace
Post by PTRider on 04/30/09 at 19:23:51

I installed a Tkat fork brace.  I hoped for, and got, more stability at speed.  I also got an unexpected benefit of smoother ride.  Even on city streets at slow speeds the forks had evidently been binding.  The front suspension is smoother now with the fork brace on.

Ours take the "special" to clear the fender, $92.

Well made and work well.  Recommended.
The SuperBrace (http://www.superbrace.com/proddetail.asp?prod=3335) fork brace is prettier and pricier.  The two listed numbers for SuperBrace are identical braces according to SuperBrace.

Now...just the rear is harsh.  Any suggestions for the rear other than $300 Progressive Suspension shocks?

Hadn't check lately but the progressive used to hang just a bit under  $200 - but you could at times hang a real fine deal on ebay once you study the progressive pdf a bit with the actual lengths and spring rates you have a lot of choice - the shocks helped the '95 more than expected - seems it must have been doing a pogo stick.

ebay progressives. 412-4005s are the same as 412-4232 but are for harleys and are available pretty often at decent prices. You'll have to get a set of bushings from progressive to fit the metric mounting bolts.

I wouldn't recommend the 4005's unless you're a light weight.
I got a set and they're on 5, I'm 230# wish I had a couple more notches.

at 230# you likely needed the 4233 at a minimum or 4236 if you run it a bit harder - I put 4232s on the '95 @ 180lb really like the soft old man ride it gives set on #3 - when I need to run one like I stole it the hotrod '02 or the guzzi take the beat'in

Suzuki 750 intruder shocks fit too... They are 2" taller and give a smooth ride with about an inch lift.  I'm 150lbs...

Got my TKat today and hooked it up.  I must say what a big difference in handling it made.
