Title: Mother Effin' WOW
Post by odvelasc on 04/28/09 at 17:21:42

So I just got back from the shop with the bike. Turn out my bike was fooding because the needle was not right, the emulsion tube was not right for the main jets. The 15 pilot jet was tooo lean lol. I now have a 38.5 pilot and 145 main jet in the vm carb. I have the dial a jet set to the middle setting because it was a little rich top end when I took of from the shop. It was all highway riding the way home. Mother effin WOW! The bike is soooooo fast, I still have the smile on my face and I got home 30mins ago. UFO, and dial a jet ( and of course service time at shop) was worth the money. Luckily this guy just outside of town drag races snowmobiles too and nows about these dial a jets lol. MOTHER EFFIN WOW. I now have a suzuki savage beast!!!

I am kind of surprised at the jetting you ended up with but if that is the what your engine likes then by all means.  It is FUN when the engine really kicks in, eh ? ?   ;D  ;D

Finding a snowmobile racer who is familiar with the UFO  and DAJ was really great, the creator of those devices made them for the snowmobiles in the first place.

yeah, I am gonna order a new longer carb boot, the stock just barely fits says John. Its just such a smooth power band, it used to kinda jolt of the line, but its just soooooo good. Yeah I am surprised at the jetting as well. He says I may still want to go up from the 38.5 pilot because it may still be a little lean. I was gonna aim for buying a new bike in the fall, next spring-ish. Never mind that now. Man oh man. I just got back from dinner and am still smiling soooo much. Its a new bike. With the new bars, the new comfy seat mod, and this. Me and suzi got miles and miles to go.

Awesome.  I bet that's an amazing feeling.

Does anything need to be done to the engine to handle the extra power long term or do you think the engine overall is more than stout enough to handle more power?

Hmm... Good quesiton. I believe Lancer has been using these mods for a while. How goes it Lancer? I would think a big single like ours should have no problem.

The part of this story that I like is seeing someone take a bike in & actually be happy with the experience. Glad you got it all set up right.
Now, just KEEP it UPRight.

I have to give a reason in writing why I'm taking personal paid days off. I call them "Mental health days." Funny thing is, even the boss understands.

Yeah Mental Health days are definitely needed with all the politics that can happen at work. A boss who undertands is a great boss.
