Title: going to the shop wish me luck (update)
Post by odvelasc on 04/24/09 at 07:46:23

So I have done everything under the sun to get the bike started after installing the daj and the UFO. Had her running a few times and now no start at all. Thanks to all who provided info over the past couple of months, but I found a service shop just outside of town familiar with my mods. They will have to do diagnostics since I already tried everything they had asked about. they have cheap rates too so hopefully she is on the road soon and wont cost me an arm and a leg.

Dropped off the keys at the shop and chatted with john the owner. He had me crank it over and nothing. He says "dont be shy keep holding the ignitition" so I do and flippin bike starts right up lol. He tells me it still running rich but I already knew that. He is making me a throttle cable and gonna do the tuning. He is gonna plug the float vent at the bottom of the float bowl and possible install a less restrictive filter if needed. I just dont have time to work on it :(

personally ive been leary of the DAJ system..
IMO  better to run too rich than too lean
DAJ re quires a lean condition to even engage

too rich is wasted fuel/lube for top cyl, more lube is better
most of us LS riders DONT need hyper peformance which the bike is not designed for... after all its a cruiser

Different strokes for different folks. For example. My girlfiend likes to join me on little day trips. Thus I bought a drivers backrest and a buttybuddy seat for those occasions. She likes going to the beach on the little suzy with me thus a barrel role and some saddle bags. My girl and beach gear is quite a bit to load on suzi. Thus more power from the mods I put on are definitely needed on those occasions. Until I buy my Kawi Versys next season, the suzi needs a bit of extra umph to meet my needs. :)
