Title: Bigger tires
Post by spacealligator on 04/22/09 at 14:12:33

I have been searching around and can't find any good documents on fitting a bigger rear tire, does anyone have some good input?

I'm riding a 2000 with the stock tire sizes.

Wheel width is a problem.  A wider wheel is recommended for a 150 tire.

Yeah, 2.75'' rim is not safely wide enough for anything over 150.

a 150 is not a problem.

it just looks like a baloon :-) I mounted a 4'' rim for 160/60 tire.

spacey, take a look at the fender, not stock.

If you're doing it on a stock fender, make sure to replace all the bolts with truss head type (low profile round head) or you'll be putting grooves in your new tires.
