Title: Bigger tires Post by spacealligator on 04/22/09 at 14:12:33 I have been searching around and can't find any good documents on fitting a bigger rear tire, does anyone have some good input? I'm riding a 2000 with the stock tire sizes. |
Title: Re: Bigger tires Post by PTRider on 04/22/09 at 16:02:07 Wheel width is a problem. A wider wheel is recommended for a 150 tire. |
Title: Re: Bigger tires Post by dasch on 04/23/09 at 02:41:23 Yeah, 2.75'' rim is not safely wide enough for anything over 150. |
Title: Re: Bigger tires Post by Demin on 04/23/09 at 05:48:01 a 150 is not a problem. http://p1.bikepics.com/pics/2008/05/23/bikepics-1298496-800.jpg |
Title: Re: Bigger tires Post by dasch on 04/23/09 at 07:14:06 it just looks like a baloon :-) I mounted a 4'' rim for 160/60 tire. |

Title: Re: Bigger tires Post by verslagen1 on 04/24/09 at 15:17:53 spacey, take a look at the fender, not stock. If you're doing it on a stock fender, make sure to replace all the bolts with truss head type (low profile round head) or you'll be putting grooves in your new tires. |
