Title: passing emissions test?
Post by JohnBoy on 04/16/09 at 09:29:54

Hi Guys,
I am taking the plunge, and picking up a 2004 savage Saturday. It has 4500 miles and is “completely” stock. It had one factory oil change... might even have the original filter?

My intent is to leave it stock till I get the emissions test done and then re-jet the carburetor as many of you have done. In AZ you have to pass emissions every year.

For those who have done it, How much trouble is it for the Savage to pass emissions test when it is breathing correctly. Do you guys have to choke it down in order to pass and then re-adjust after?

Thanks for your replies...this site is Golden...and you guys are the best!

I'm in Tucson, and I went though super easy 3 years ago,...  They actually had to put a boot over the whole muffler to get any reading at all.   They don't test bikes anymore here... so if you're in Tucson, no sweat... not sure about Phoenix... before you start worrying you should check..
