Just wondering what happens if the 2 marks shown in to service manual on the crank did not match up? Sorry im new to the savage? Its may sound dumb, just wondering? Thanks

should turn the crank toward the front tire - the way it runs - else theory is you can pull slack into the cam chain

ok just wondering, thanks, if the 2 marks dont line up what problems could this cause?

there is a dwell at TDC where nothing is happening, so a little off shouldn't be a problem. But I would just go around again till I could at least make the marks touch.
