Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by Charon on 04/02/09 at 09:35:25 To put it bluntly, I have no clue what this might be, because as a rule I refuse to waste my time watching a youtube video. |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by Rogue_Cheddar on 04/02/09 at 09:55:47 Can't hurt it none. I had thought about doing a Y pipe 1 into 2 a while back, but I had enough trouble mounting my fishtail muffler, let alone a two pipe scenario. Go for it, it is cool. |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by diamond jim on 04/02/09 at 11:03:02 That rear foot peg looks mighty tight. Of course it's extended though. If the pipes are open then performance would likely be similar to just running header only. A single drag pipe has it's length to provide a little resistance. |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by Ed L. on 04/02/09 at 16:15:22 Looks good, wonder where he got the y pipe. Of course I have to ask why is he putting two mufflers on a single :-? |

Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by diamond jim on 04/02/09 at 19:20:29 The bike in the vid with the double exhaust- I just looked at it again and noticed that it's not a LS650 motor. Yonuh, you've got one cool a$$ bike. I've secretly admired it for a while. But I'm coming out of the closet today! You get my vote for "most unique bike". |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by Moofed on 04/02/09 at 20:11:13 You're right! There are a few frames with the engine visible in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asYih5Ooncs&feature=channel |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by diamond jim on 04/02/09 at 20:42:22 It sounds like the LS 650 motor or a single at least. It didn't sound like a vertical twin to me. I wonder if it's a Borlie motor or similar. http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/borile_b651_scrambler_2005.php |

Thanks, I just hope you are talking about my bike and not the one in the video I posted because that one ain't mine, just a video I ran across on youtube. |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by diamond jim on 04/03/09 at 05:12:42 Nope, talkin' about your bike, dude. It's classic, old school chopper. Sweet. |

Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by diamond jim on 04/03/09 at 05:22:13 Here's a few interesting details on the youtube bike: http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh128/russ_diamond_jim/youtubebike.jpg |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by Mortation on 04/03/09 at 07:06:09 From the second video its an in-line twin. From the first video you cant see much of the engine but from what you can see its clearly not an S40/LS60 side view of the motor. Duel exhaust would be cool though :) I really wonder if someone could squeeze a small V-twin in one of these frames. |

Definitely a single. I say the lump's a Yamaha XT600 / XTZ660 by the looks of lower right corner of crank case and starter/lightened sprocket cover on the left side. |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by doc5446 on 04/03/09 at 08:30:26 Dual exhaust would be cool, but I think I would put one pipe on each side of the bike so I could be thumpin' in stereoooooooooooo........... |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by Ed L. on 04/03/09 at 08:44:01 Now that would be cool, run a short pipe off the head into the Y and split the exhaust then run the pipes to either side of the bike. Shoot the whole thing rattle can high temp flat black to "hide" it. |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by bill67 on 04/03/09 at 09:10:29 From the front on second video looks to me like see 2 header pipes like a twin |

Since you'd be running dual pipes, you could actually run smaller 1"-1.25" pipe from the Y to the mufflers for a combined diameter of 2"+. I know it's not quite that simple but you get the idea. Smaller=easier to do. |
Title: Re: Pros and cons of doing this? Post by BurnPgh on 04/03/09 at 11:28:36 theres a dozen rebel 250 clones. Maybe the chinese got hold of the savage now? |
