Title: Battery replacement
Post by louie650 on 03/22/09 at 06:12:48

Does anybody have any ideas?  My LS650 had the Lancer carb and K&N filter replacement done before I bought it.  The guy replaced the battery with a smaller one as the filter took up space at the top of the battery box.  There is 1" less space at the top.  He put in a YB10L battery which does not have enough cranking power.  Does anyone know what battery is small enough to fit but has enough juice for this bike?

I got the http://www.bigcrank.com/motorcyclebatteries.mv?c=motorcycle-suzuki-650-L650SAVAGE-ALL-86-02 and glad I did. Lot's of juice and no maintenance. The battery in the link fits '86-'02, but I'm sure they have one for whatever year yours is. Give them a call.

Just had to make one mod; bend the tab on one of the terminal cables. Simple install.

This would work for a stock battery replacement, but because of the air filter, the battery height can only be 6".

Sorry Louie, should've read your whole post. Still on the morning coffee.
