Hello all, I have a 2007 S40. I searched the forums and am not finding the information I am looking for. I remember a post way back about turning the risers around to get a more comfortable riding position. I also am looking for information about swapping a stock seat for a 2008 Harley street bob seat. I also remember someone who put a fender skirt over their rectifier rather than move it. Any information would be very appreciated.

I turned my risers around. What about it were you wanting to know?

What do I need to know. Can I just pull the handle bar off, turn the riser around and put the bars back on. Will the cables and hoses be long enough?

If you still have the little covers that go over the 4 allen head bolts, use a razor blade to pop them loose if you want to reuse them. Take off the bars, loosen the bolts on the bottom of the risers and spin them around. Everything will be long enough. It is indeed as easy as you think it is. I'm going to get new nuts for mine because the factory ones are soft and they kind of got a little messed up.

I'm 5' 4" and I'm fine with it. It does give it a lot different look. I would suggest riding it around by yourself a few times before having someone ride with you. It does also change the steering a little bit. Here is what it looked like right after I did the switch. My bike looks a lot different now, but I still have the bars the same. The belt cover and head covers were at the powder coater's, that is why they are not on the bike.

Here's info on the seat. Second mod shows the pan method without removing anything.

It feels fine after you get used to it. It just changes it a little bit.

I didn't have the stock drag bars on mine, i recently put on some harley drag bars, and new grips and risers. The risers i got where 3" tall and had 1.5" of pull back, i mounted them backwards to give my bike a little more aggressive look, i think it did just that. And to me it's very comfortable (let's face it anything is better than the stock buckhorns) but i am a bigger guy to about 6' 260lb.

i loved the way it handled after i switched them forward, it put me in a more stretched position. im 5'10", now i just need the forward controls...
