For years Ive been using the silicone oil from fuser units out of copiers instead of Armorall, BUT recently a guy told me that stuff isnt all silicone & can cause swelling of rubber & mess up plastic parts. IVE never had a problem, so Ill jkeep on, BUT I use it on all plastic & rubber near where I want to wax./ It keeps the wax from sticking & It makes the stuff look brand new.I get it from copier repar places. Get stuff thin enough to smear around, some is so thick it is lile syrup.

Westleys bleche-white works great on the tires!

What about MAAS metal polish. Anyone use this, the paste or the cream. I was gonna try some but the fact it only comes in "French Lavender' scent turned me right off.

Nev-R-Dull

Also, just a word of caution, all the engine cases are clear coated.  Don't expect to use a metal polish to remove a scratch.

Also, I purchased an ultra sonic cleaning tool at wally world for $10.  Works great for cleaning around those case bolts and crevases.

I have an El Cheapo pressure washer. Ran about &80.00 IIRC. It comes in handy for several things + knocking the crap off of Bull.

I would like to know more about the ultrasonic thing. What department is it in>? Maybe I can swing another $10.00,,, MAYbe,,,

My mom has them in every room that requires cleaning, so they're multi use.  But there is a add on pack of tips for auto use.  It's yeller, battery operated about the size of a ultrasonic toothbrush.  Found mine at the end of an aile in the auto dept of wally's.

I was using simichrome for awhile, but use Blue Magic metal polish cream more.

I had to work at a vintage car show and asked some guy who owned a beautiful old car (forget what make) with the big chrome bumper what he used. He opened the trunk and pulled out a jar of the Blue Magic. I figured if he was using it for he chrome and metal on his big $$$$$ vintage car, it should be good enough for my Savage. Stuff works well, and is real easy to use, just dip cloth in the jar and start rubbing it in until the cloth turns black, then rub some more.

The Simichrome is toothpaste style, and I still use it for the spokes. Use Maguire's wax for the paint after a wash.

It's called a sonic scrubber, power cleaner, as seen on tv.   8-)

I have not gotten to the LS650 yet but on my other bike I did:

I use RainX car wash and a pressure washer to wash the bike.
Turtle Wax on the painted surface.
I use Never-Dull Chrome polish for the chrome.
Mothers Polish on the Aluminum (Engine/Wheels).  I stripped the CC off the engine cases:

This was what one cover looked like when I was almost done.

Another vote for Blue magic on chrome, I've used it for years. Hard to find, but one jar should last me a lifetime.

*WARNING* Do not put Armorall on the tires. It gets wet and runs making the bike easy to slip or skid.
