Title: stock battery
Post by SURAZAL on 03/09/09 at 11:34:02

14L-A2 instead of the 14L-B2

locally only Napa carried the B2 for 80.00
every body has the A2 for 39.99

I modified the battery case so the drip tube is on the opposite side now ... about 10 mins of moto-tool work saved 40 dollars

Would that let some fluid leak out while it is on the side stand?

I just used a longer vent line and snaked it around. No drilling, no modding needed.

I used a Big Crank  sealed battery that doesn't need a vent.

Same here, just installed the big crank the other day. Only issue was the stock battery terminals are smaller than the big crank and the cables are designed to latch on to both sides. I ended up just bending the side tabs up to make the cable flat.

THE BIG grank looks good but at almost twice the price I think I prefer mine thank you gentlemen cost effective to me is the what it is all about considering I kist my last 2003 savage for 600 and fised it all up for spare time and a battery

True, big crank is more expensive but i'm more than willing to pay the extra cost to get a battery that doesn't self discharge at the same rate as a normal battery and to never have to add water.

I got a big crank for 57, with no tax. at 40 bucks plus tax, the extra 15 was worth it. I've had a crank in my 05 sportster and have never charged it. I do ride at least once a month, though.
