I found a chrome cup made to fit 3 3/8 gauges. Anybody know if this might work? Just housing the gauge and not concerned with the black plastic cover, I'll relocate turn signals. Really would like the cup to be chrome, not painted pvc although that's an option.

Are you mounting the speedo/chrome cup back in the tank or somewhere else?

You could use this little guy to replace the turn signals indicators on the instrument panel. An eye flashing would correspond with the blinker!

Moving the speedo to the handlebars, cause I'm putting on a bigger tank. I want to move the turn signals out onto the handlebars somewhere.
Really was hoping someone would have a speedo out laying around that might be able to give me some measurements.
Of course I could take mine out but I won't have time before this auction is over.

Yep! I thought that little skull would be pretty cool on the right bike. It would work on Eddie's!

I took my speedo out a week ago to install the speedo visor. I didn't take measurements but from what I remember the speedo flange on top that you see is about extends about 3/8" out from the speedo housing and it seemed like about 3" deep. I guess the outside of the flange is maybe 3/4" wider in diameter than the housing at the most. If you have a cup that has an OD equal to the speedo flange OD or maybe 1/8" narrower at the most and at least 2.75" to 3.5" deep it should work.

How would you account for the speedo cable?

I'll have to drill a hole for the speedo cable and any wires.

I did my speedo into a PVC pipe coupling. It was almost a perfect fit, all I needed to do was wrap about three layers of duct tape around the speedo to make it snug. There's all kinds of colors of spray paint specific for using on plastic. Get a silver spray or any other color you like. Mine with a back cover cut down from a second PVC piece of cap fixture was only about $4.00 + paint.

It's called black chrome vinyl. It looks just like the tank paint and it's pretty darn durable. I got it for $3.99 for a 25'x10' piece.

A hidden benefit of Corporate Downsizing. Some years ago, that was a 1 pound can & it would been too big. Or did they just change how tall they are & leave the diameter alone?

Here is a pic of the fuel gauge from the kawasaki vn 750 tank i'm using.
I housed it in a chrome signal cup from a harley, hoping to keep to chrome.

If you have tons of time and money, maybee " Yankee Engineuity" would fabricate a special fitting for you. They make such stuff for the HD brand. ;D
