The right thing to do is to sand down and repaint, but that is not always cheap. I hated my stickers, but luckily the previous owner dented the tanks so it behooved me to sand down and paint.

Savage is under the clear coat... S40 are on top (or are actual badges).

Ok Savage Eddie, please elaborate, looks like you it got to peel without sanding the whole tank down.

I did the same to mine.

Make sure the tank is empty (I left it on the bike) and use a dryer or paint peeler to heat up an edge of the sticker.  Then attack that edge at a sharp angle with a plastic scraper, like a credit card or a plastic putty knife.

I only heated a 1x1 inch section at a time to keep the tank from getting too hot, and risk hurting the paint.

You'll still be able to see where the sticker was, since there'll be no clear coat over that area of paint.  I wet sanded the edges with ~2000 grit paper, and then used some cleaner wax on it.  Looks decent unless you look real close or see it in the right light.

Good luck,
