I bought a 155 and a 152.5 main jet. I couldn't find an upsized pilot jet, but I am wondering if I can put the 155 or 152.5 in without adjusting the pilot and if so, which should I use? Thanks for the help!

One side of my pilot snapped off when I tried to pull it. It remains stock to this day, BUT, Pilot is part of the RPM range, not all of it. Theres some overlap, but someone will stop in & explain what part of the RPM range is affected by the pilot & where the main comes into play & so on & so forth..Cmon you smart guys.

pilot's the first third of throttle, mostly idle, or a steady, low rpm, cruise.... on acceleration, the slide kicks in, opening the main.

The rough breakdown is...

Pilot: idle to 1/4 throttle (low range)
Needle: 1/4 to 3/4 throttle (midrange)
Main jet: 3/4 to wide open (

There are of course overlaps; the slide opening on its front side affects lean/rich in the low and a bit of the midrange; the pilot circuit actually provides fuel all the way to wide open but after 1/4 throttle it has a very small roll; just to name a few.

All three (pilot jet, needle placemnet and Main jet) need to be adjusted for best operation.

And yes, it can be a "trial & error" process for the average joe's.

I just pulled the Main and swapped it with the 155. I already did the white spacer mod and I need to take it out on the road and fiddle with the idle screw and see where I sit. I will get back to this in a bit and see if I actually need to replace the Pilot

Well road tested the new carb set up and it runs pretty darn good! No more jerkin on decel but still a bit stiff! I tightened the chain a bit... thats probably the reason why so stiff! I will work it out eventually!
