Hi,
I love the looks of my stock muffler and like it to be louder and more flow. Anyone here have any good ideas on drilling the back of the muffler out ?

I've got the stock can laying on a shelf in the garage. I'll take a look later this evening. Honestly, though, if it turns out that drilling deep inside is needed and you find you may have to spend $10 on a long drill bit or extension, I'd recommend dropping $20 on a HD muffler instead. It'll sound better and you'll drop about 5 pounds of weight off the bike. That stock can is lined with lead or something.

Diamond is correct.
I drilled out my stock muffler with a 1/4 inch bit and this made it a bit louder. Its not a deep sound but it is reasonably louder. For now I'm satisfied with it.

Hi Flcruzer,
Did you drill out the 4 rivets from the end cap to remove the cap ? Has anyone done that ? Or did you just drill 1/4 inch holes at the end caps and how may holes ?

I drilled through the inner tube, I bought a 12inch long drill bit and drilled the hole in the inner part of the muffler.
