Title: Im in love..
Post by MrThud on 01/31/09 at 02:00:49

Hi Guys,
Do you know who built this?
http://suzukisavage.com/gallery/STriebe.jpg

In my opinion this is so far the nicest modified Savage I have seen.

Would like to get in touch with the builder to find out if they raked the frame or if it is only fork tube extensions in the front. (and perhaps what the tubes came off? Some trail bike perhaps).

The manifold is a work of art!
To me this is beautiful... im in love :)

cheers,
G.

Front end appears to be AME kitted, raked yokes and longer downtubes. This may have been the first turbo Savage.

Nice Bike! Think I saw this one over on a German Savage site once ... to quote the ShamWow guy, "You know the Germans always make good stuff" ;D

Yeah, I reckon you are right it looks like raked trees (Yolks).

One of my Honda chops has raked yolks also, but the handling is dubious due to the 'trail'. Quick and easy way to rake though :)

I like the bike, don't know how I feel about that pipe burning the hell out of my inner thigh though

My thoughts exactly.....

looks like theres heat shield where the pipe would contact the thigh. I imagine the pipe was redirected to avoid getting burned on the forehead during oil changes. There's some quirky design elements of the savage and having the pipe on the highside is IMO one of them. theres only one pipe. Why not put it on the otherside to ease oil changes?

I love the way he's routed the exhaust. For years I've heard the "loud pipes save lives" line. I've always thought if that were true why don't they route the pipe to the front to anounce your coming, instead of having the noise trail off after you've already left? Now someone's gone and done it. Bravo!

There's no other practical routing from exhaust port to turbine inlet. The pipe should be as short as possible.

I can't wait to see what Serowbot has to say when he sees this bike.
