Title: Winter Project -- Saddlebags! Post by drharveys on 01/20/09 at 19:51:25 Having found the official Triumph leather saddlebags too small, I replaced them with some expandable ones from Cycle Gear: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/Triumph/TriumphantEspresso.jpg So that left me with some nice bags, and a bagless Savage. I got the saddlebag brackets just in time for a major cold snap! It finally warmed up enough to spend some quality time in the Garage. Tonight I took advantage of my wife's absence to use the extra garage space to put the Triumph bags on the Suzuki. I had to cut the strap back to clear the heat sink: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/Suzuki/DSC00769.jpg But I think the end result was darned good! http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/Suzuki/DSC00770.jpg And, here it is with the tail case back on: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/Suzuki/DSC00772.jpg |

Title: Re: Winter Project -- Saddlebags! Post by drharveys on 01/20/09 at 21:16:54 Thanks Justin -- the one at the top of the photo is rounded -- I'll do the same to the other one the next time I have the seat off! |

Thanks -- I think I have some plastic tubing around -- I'll run the wires through the tube, maybe split it so they'll fit easily. Always one more project! |
