Title: Im new, and so is my ride!
Post by slicknick on 01/18/09 at 15:29:42

Hey guys, as you can tell from the username, my name is Nick. I'm 23 years old currently enlisted in the Navy performing my duties over in Guantanamo Bay! I have been riding motorcycles for a couple years, learning first on a R6, then falling in love with it.

I am very excited to see that there is a forum centered around my new bike, which is a 2002 Suzuki LS650 Savage.

You can view some crappy pics of the bike: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=206564&l=c6dd6&id=568205082!

Welcome Nick.  We are an interesting bunch...really interesting.  Some of us ride heavily modded bikes...others prefer to keep 'em stock.  One thing is for sure...we all love our "Savages"

Hi Nick. You are going to like the savage a lot. Sounds like you will be back in the US soon since it seems like Obama is closing Gitmo. That should mean more time to ride!!!!

Howdy Nick,

Welcome to the site and the world of the Savage or S40.
Thank you for your service by the way.
My daughter just returned from Gitmo recently.

Huzzah! Boat Drinks! (clink) Enjoy your stay at Club Gitmo. Make sure you handle the Korans properly or the cell dwellers might fling poo at you.  :D

Welcome Nick. As has been expressed here, THANK YOU. We really do appreciate your service to our country. Diverse group here. How diverse? Spend some time in the "Cafe". Overall, not a better bunch of folks to be found. Hope you're home soon.

Slick,

Welcome, and thank you for your service.

Be careful on that Savage.  That "little" bike can kill you as quickly and as surely as the bad guys can.

Ride safe, friend!   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Having spent a couple of years there (a couple of decades ago) I can't think of a better ride to have in that place.  Thanks, and Welcome!!

Welcome Nick. Thanks so much for your service to our country. Your savage looks just like mine except mine is an '04. Enjoy it and ride safe. I do have to say there is not a whole lot of information or parts for our savages and what there is, is hard to find. This site is the best. There are alot of people on here that know alot about this bike. If you ever need anything just come here and ask your question and I am sure you will have an answer in a short period of time. Again thanks for defending my freedom.
