Post by dr1445 on 01/17/09 at 11:01:20 you may need to raise the needle, or go to a bigger pilot jet. it depends on your current set up. opening the adjustable fuel mix jet 1/4 or 1/2 turns may also help. in any case the backfire can not be completely eliminated, unless you install a keihin fcr carb, which has a special jet to bleed fuel in when the throttle is closed. thats a big $ project. |
Title: Re: does my engine is too fast? Post by odvelasc on 01/17/09 at 11:10:23 thats quite the backfire. It sounded a lot like a loud sneeze. Trying blowing your nose, it might prevent backfire lol. Just joking. Ummm if it smells like deisel maybe its running a little rich. Try turning the fuel mixture screw (on the right side of the carb) clockwise 1/4 turns at a time. I get a slight backfire on shut down, and when shifting to third (very rarely). |
