On the Petcock, if I set it to PRI will I run out of gas or will I still have reserve?

When you run out of gas in 'res' or 'pri' you'll be bone dry.

When it coughs, its done. Same as Reserve. When mine coughs, I pull back & put it on Prime till it catches. Then I head for gas or put it on reserve if I am closer to home than the station.

Well that answers that..

I think I'm gonna replace the petcock with one that has on/off/res. I was reading about one in the technical section. I'm having problem with the vacuum part (small hose)..

That type of petcock will perform the Prime function when its on reserve, so you wont be losing anything except now you will need to turn off when its not running, else risk the carb allowing fuel to flood into the engine & pollute the oil.Heck, It'll do it ( function as Prime) even in the ON position.

What source for the petcock? Others have problems.

I just finished installing a H-D muffler and the jet kit from Lancer. It's running great on PRI. I still need to test it on "ON" I am trying to address any issues one at a time. I may just need to replace the vacuum hose that goes from the petcock to the right side of the carb.
