Title: fuel in the crankcase?
Post by irma on 01/10/09 at 19:45:03

Hi my fellow riders

I found out that my bike is mixing fuel and oil for some reason.

I checked the carb and it seems to operate normal but some how the fuel is getting mix with the oil and flooding the vents and contaminating the air filter etc..

I dont know what could be the cause of this, the bike was operating normally, this just happen when I started this morning to warm it up for a short winter ride...I guess she did not want to get cold.

Check for fuel in the vac line.  If the diaphram in the petcock has a hole in it will go thru the vac line into the intake, into the cylinder pass the rings and mix with your oil.

Other possibility is the float is full of fuel or the float valve is bad, letting fuel into the intake, etc.

This needs to be in Rubber Side Down, this section is for website problems and feedback only.
