Title: Venting! me not my bike
Post by shermeco on 01/09/09 at 22:02:03

So tonight at 12:45 i was awoken by my neighbor to find out that my bike had been tipped over at some point between 9 and 12:45. On the calmest winter night in VA beach  just as reference 2 nights before the wind was blowing like crazy and my bike cover is no where to be found but my bike was fine. So pretty much PISST off about the whole thing any thought?
Where to buy a new right rear turn signal would be nice to know as well ?
Thanks for any input
Matt-

Gather up the pieces & get some epoxy. Mine has been crushed a few times. On a walk by, cant hardly even tell .
Vent the bike cover. Some are built with enough venting to keep it from working like a sail.

Bummer,...  Wallymart has cheap covers....  Can only suggest, maybe face the bike opposite direction on windy days, or leave the cover off.

I'm in Arizona,...I'll send you a t-signal for $10+shipping if you can't find one closer or cheaper... or $20 a pair.. no idea what shipping would be.

anyway,...sorry it happened...

Well I went out this morning and there is not much damage just a few scrapes. War wound one might say. I think a car bumped it trying to park in the spot and did not see my bike. there is a big gouge taking out of the asphalt from my kick stand. so i assume that is what happened.

Advice from Paladin,.... good idea...

When I have to take a Cage Space, I park center and toward the outer end so a cage doesn't think the space is empty and drives in knocking Thumper down.

I have a hard time visualizing a bike blowing over the stand on asphalt unless its just so hot that its soft enough to let the stand sink in. How hard was it blowing? Were there cars parked to protect it from the wind? But, if it was hit, seems there oughta be some mark on the right side.
Or, starboard, just in case Reelthing stops in.

I would never have learned this had I not worked on a drill ship in Mobile bay. It sat there, bow pointed out into the bay, left side to the dock, so I called that 'port" side. I sure hope thats right.
