Title: Mutazu Post by odvelasc on 01/06/09 at 11:59:25 anyone have any opinions on these hard bags? http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?cat_id=7&menu=Hard%20Saddlebags&product_id=12&s=prod.php |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by serowbot on 01/06/09 at 13:13:27 Well, if you like bags, they're purdy ones,.... I would prefer top loading, so the stuff don't fall out when you open them, and if you go down, they look very scratchable.... |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by Paladin. on 01/06/09 at 16:03:57 I think someone on the site already has a set. |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by ALfromN.H. on 01/06/09 at 17:28:42 I have a set of white ones. I like em. They aren't really high quality fiberglass so if you go down, they are junk. I didn't like the led turn signals so I added an aftermarket set. Here's a couple pics. http://w3.bikepics.com/pics/2008/05/13/bikepics-1287678-800.jpg http://w3.bikepics.com/pics/2008/07/15/bikepics-1354010-800.jpg AL |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by Tincanman on 01/06/09 at 18:30:23 wow not bad but Im not sure I like the side open thing but then I would have to SEE them....looks good tho!! [smiley=beer.gif] |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by odvelasc on 01/06/09 at 18:36:43 Hey Al! How much weight do you think they can carry? Perhaps a six pack each side? Maybe a quick run to the grocery store or a light picnic to the beach? I have water proof soft bags right now that can each hold a motorcycle jacket, however they dont look as good. Thanks for the feedback Al. Looks wise, do you think they are worth the 238$ CAD I am about to shell out?? |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by ALfromN.H. on 01/06/09 at 19:26:14 I like mine alot and i think I got my money's worth. As far as how much i can carry, on one side I have my rain gear, a pair of gloves, a small tool kit, and about a quart of gas. The other side I leave open for my thermos of coffee for work and any other last minute things. I also keep 4 or 5 bungies for additional cargo. Like i said, not the highest quality but they've made it through one year without any problems. AL |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by odvelasc on 01/06/09 at 19:31:11 awesome possum. thanks a lot Al. Glad to know you are happy with them. I will try them out. |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by Toymaker on 01/07/09 at 02:30:34 I also have them. Got them for Christmas. I carry my rainsuit (on those maybe days...you know maybe it's gonna rain) and gloves. I even stuffed my chaps on one side. Best thing is they LOCK. I really like mine. |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by 12Bravo on 01/07/09 at 09:25:39 I have a set on my old Maxim and the bags seem to be decent, they do the job. http://www.kilroy-was-here.org/bags1%20sm.jpg |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by bugsville on 01/09/09 at 17:18:26 I considered those but was concerned I would get them and they would be too small. I found some old ones on Craig's List for around $50, it was a bit of work painting them and getting them on, but now it's a real grocery getter! http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1223913036 http://www.bugsville.org/bugsmedia/98suzukisavage/P1020219-01.jpg |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by EssForty on 01/10/09 at 18:24:54 Pretty sure they're plastic, not a reinforced composite like fiberglass. Flcruzer has a set that look really nice with his silver S40. I rode behind someone with a set of these bags on their Honda. I could not see the signal lights at all in bright daylight. Might want to consider some better lights if you buy them, for safety's sake. |
Title: Re: Mutazu Post by Toymaker on 01/10/09 at 19:09:59 I have them, and that is definately a problem. AlfromN.H has then too and he installed flush-mounted signals. I am getting a pair very soon. |

Title: Re: Mutazu Post by flcruzr on 01/13/09 at 16:31:43 Here is a pic of the Mutazu bags on my bike. They are pretty good for the price. http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm61/flcruzr/Saddlebags005.jpg |
