Title: valves Post by kennycreed on 12/15/08 at 01:07:38 Hi all. Just a thought , has anybody ever had problems with a sticking valve, and if so what would the symptoms be, also is it possible to take the cylinder head of without taking the engine out of the frame, cheers |
Title: Re: valves Post by verslagen1 on 12/15/08 at 08:56:26 I heard it could be done, but you're going to loosen up the engine and tilt it forward. Why not take it out? Remove all the mounting bolt except leave the 2 long ones in the holes, tip the bike over on one side (blankets), remove the bolts, push the engine clear of the frame and remove the bike. |

Title: Re: valves Post by LANCER on 12/20/08 at 04:32:38 I do not recall anything about sticking valves. |
Title: Re: valves Post by PipJones on 12/20/08 at 05:51:48 valves, unless i'm mistaken, can only stick out. the loabs on the cam would force them to open, if they were "stuck" closed. A stuck open valve could cause your bike not to run, bent valves, loss of compression, a multitude of things. my guess is your bike would have very very low compression and prob not run. Pip Jones |
