Title: handlebar grips
Post by kennycreed on 12/10/08 at 01:47:21

I am trying to replace the handlebar grips but cant get the original ones off, are they glued on or fixed with a small screw that I cant see and are the grip end caps just push on fit.. kind of leaver them off with a screwdriver thing,, Oh I'd get them off alright but I don't want to mangle them, is there any way of getting them off without destroying them? all the best to you all

well if your going to reuse them GOOD LUCK there are ribs under the grip so its about impossible to them off on the right side and glued on the left,  other than that just cut um & gut um and yes the end caps push on.

Got that thanks. Before I start butchering I noticed that my new grips are a different internal size one is inch and the left is seven eighth would original inch Ls bars have different widths on the ends, if I destroy them taking them off I am not sure if the new ones will fit, is it standard practice to have different sizes on the bars,,cheers,,

The smaller one is for your right hand (throttle) side.  Be careful when cutting off the old one on that side not to cut the hard plastic tube which is what rotates for the throttle.
