Title: Three-bond 1216 Post by RocksimusMaximus on 11/23/08 at 15:45:31 I'm doin' a head gasket job and didn't run across any Three-bond 1216 down at my local auto shop. Anybody know where I can pick some up or if there is anything that works just as well? |

Title: Re: Three-bond 1216 Post by skrapiron -FSO on 11/23/08 at 17:35:10 I find that if you let the liquid gasket partially cure before assembly, they create a better seal. What I do is apply a small amount to both mating surfaces(after cleaning them with denatured alcohol of course). Let the liquid gasket partially cure ( a few minutes is all it takes) then assemble and tighten the bolts to spec. Depending on the solvents used to make the liquid gasket, dry times can range from a few minutes to overnight. Make sure you read the instructuions carefully before using.... |
