I'm also curious as to the opinion of those that have them. But I am also looking at the trail tech VAPOR, it is about a third of the price and has most of the features of the veypor.

It depends on what you want from it.
Of course it's designed for the sport bike crowd, so there are performance monitoring features.  It will tell how many G's you're pulling.  From that you can get HP.
You can also set it up as a gas gage.  Fill 'er up, push a couple of buttons, go till the gage says empty.

yeah the waypoor is cheaper, but if you want to move the idiot lights up to where you can see 'em...

What features do you need? You can get a digital speedo, trip odometer and clock for $25, a digital tach for $25, an oil pressure gage for $20, and route your turn signal lights and nuetral to indicators for another $10. I even added a voltage meter for about $20. and a power accessory socket for $15 to run my GPS  It's not as pretty as an integrated unit, but it sure functions well for me and I saved a bundle.

The "waypoor" also has a dash option.  Oh... only 4 lights.  Hmmm. how many do you need?

Oh, there is a 6 light option.

Kinda pricey though.

More info here:
Vapor (http://trailtech.net/vapor.html)
and here:
Veypor (http://www.veypor.com/veypor.html)

Compare features, prices, and make the decision that works for you.

Hey verslagen, did they ever put a digital clock on the Veypor?  That was one of the main reasons (besides price) that I went with the Vapor.

The Veypor has way more features, but does cost more of course.  One of the best features is that it can be upgraded at no cost on the veypor.com website whenever they make improvements or add features for the system.  I have found it to be extremely durable and  I especially like the performance programs which I have used to test upgrades to the bike.
I highly recommend it.

is the vaypor waterproof?

Last thing I want to know when I'm on the bike... time.   ;D

My alluded to meaning, if you just want idiot light, the vaypor is the way to go.

The VR2 has a clock feature, along with other bells and whistles.   8-)

All of these are water resistant, if they weren't, they don't belong on a bike.

Water proof is another thing, planning on riding thru a lake?   :o

When out riding for the sake of it, me too.  It is also my commuter bike, my shopping bike, etc.. and sometimes I need to know what time it is without trying to dig my watch out of my sleeve or push buttons to change screens.
The Vapor gives me the 3 essentials (for me) on the screen at the same time.  Speed, Time, Trip Meter (gas gauge)

I don't understand.  Vapor or Veypor?  Please, can we at least spell them right so I know which one is being talked about?
They both have Shift lights.  They both have dashboard options for indicator lights.

My Vapor has been wet a few times (it is not easily removeable, like the Veypor), and has not sufferred.  Of course, I try to remember to keep it covered if rain is expected.

It still comes down to this:
Veypor - more expensive, more features.
If it has things you need or want, then go for it.
If those features are not important to what you want it for, then get something cheaper.

For me, the Vapor was the better choice.

The company name is trail tech, so they purposely picked a name to be confused with the high priced product.  So don't blame me for confusing the spelling, they designed it that way.   :P

not doing much lake riding, but a bit of rain doing in an expensive product is important for me to know.  i like the vapor and veypor information from all of you. thank you

I think both the Veypor and trail tech's Vapor both have way more features than I will use as an average rider. Then It comes down to price and esthetics. I like the Vepors layout better, easier to read tach for me. And the price is better. I know what Lancer mentioned is a big plus but I'm not going to map performance times or measure increases with it.

I have ridden in the rain many times with my Veypor with no problems at all; once was over 4 hours in a driving thunderstorm riding back from Myrtle Beach to Little Mountain and it never missed a beat...this was with 40+ mph winds, hard a_s rain mixed with pea sized hail and it nearly beat the snot out of me.  Mine has been dead reliable and accurate.
