Title: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by T Mack 1 on 11/11/08 at 18:31:07 Ok... Pict's are from my old cell-phone so forgive me..... I was at the local Stealership getting some parts for my son's '73 Honda SL70 and wasn't planning on taking photo's...... What do I see as I walk in .... right at the front door..... A '09 S40 with two tone paint ..... Hmmm .... dealer hasn't been able to keep S40's on the floor for very long.... I guess it's a good sign.... http://www.users.fast.net/~tommack/2009-2.jpg http://www.users.fast.net/~tommack/2009-1.jpg |
Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by Facebite138 on 11/11/08 at 19:15:56 Neat, I looked at the Suzuki website, they also have a silver on red two tone... I still prefer the solid black one, that's just my taste though. |
Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by PerrydaSavage on 11/12/08 at 00:20:23 Very nice! The tu-tone with the red, is red and white I believe, not red and silver ... betcha a black and silver or black and white paint schemes would be nice too! |
Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by EssForty on 11/12/08 at 03:14:45 Yes. The one I saw in Daytona was red and white. Here's a pic: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2NU0p82vl5Y/SPo7X1ZNeJI/AAAAAAAAAHE/JtiZmrOoddA/s400/PA180004.jpg |

Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by skrapiron -FSO on 11/12/08 at 05:20:34 OOOOOH! I want one! I want one!!!! Would you believe that my wife was mad at me when I sold my '04? She would have rather traded her scooter than my Savage....... I need another one............. Ok, can we start a collection fund. Call it the Former Savage Owner's recovery fund...... Send donations to......... ;D |
Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by Oldfeller on 11/12/08 at 05:33:53 And the rest of us said, "Yeah, do go get yourself another bike, fill up that other nich that you need filled, but for God's sake don't sell the quick nimble get around town bike .... you'll regret it if you do because a whole lot of your riding is quick get around town type riding." Another bike isn't bad -- dumping the Savage gets regrets. I filled all my niches and I still ride the Savage most. This spring I will likely dump the squid bike because I've gone fast and I've cut corners enough to know what they were talking about. An SV650 is a neat bike for a seventeen to twenty-something to have. It does all the neat things the bike rag writers say it does. It will knock on 120-125 mph and it gets there like right now (before you finish out the exit lane on to the interstate as a matter of fact). But .... The Savage is the bike the battery stayed in over the winter. Grinding a Savage peg is just as satisfying as rubbing a squid feeler spud on the ground. In town, the Savage blows up the speed limit just as good as the SV650 does (it just doesn't sound like it is going racing when it thumpa thumpa thumpas -- it get less nasty cop looks and far fewer tickets) |
Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by skrapiron -FSO on 11/12/08 at 06:42:51 Yes, I am a bit remorseful. BUT, my engine had 51,000 miles on it when I put it out to pasture. It was in need of a complete overhaul which would have cost more than I paid for the bike in the first place. I don't regret selling it. I just regret not having it...... It is a GREAT little bike! |

Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by Jack_650 on 11/12/08 at 07:43:17 A question for those who've seen them. Is that a decal on the side of the tank? Or are we getting medallions now like the big boys do? Jack |
Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by PerrydaSavage on 11/12/08 at 08:35:29 That's one of those faux-chrome medalions ... Quote:
Yup, it sure does ... learned that the hard way! |

It looked like the silver was painted on. The little stripe (gold'ish colored) looked like tape put on to cover the seam because you could faintly see where the white & silver met. |

Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by Yonuh Adisi on 11/12/08 at 11:40:33 Gonna have to stop by my local Suzuki dealer and see if they have any 09s in stock. Be interesting to see what if any changes were made. |
Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by photojoe on 11/12/08 at 14:20:56 I like the paint schemes. I also like the fact that Suzuki is not only keeping them around, but enhancing them. It's like a celebration. I hope they put just a tad extra foam in the seat. |

I didn't spend too much time studying the 09, but nothing stood out as different from my 06. Looked like the paint was the only change. All the things we want to change like the seat & fuel capacity are identical. Same Boulevard badging. Same exhaust, handlebars..lights...just snazzy two-tone paint. |

Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by serowbot on 11/12/08 at 21:15:56 I, for one, plan on running out and getting me one of those '09's, in 2012... |
Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by firetruckredbike on 11/14/08 at 04:05:22 I stopped in the Suzuki shop to get my trickle charger, and there was the red and white 2009. Very, very beautiful. I had to stop staring lest I make Thump jealous. ;) Amy |

My thoughts exactly. I use the same approach with photo gear and computer equipment. I buy what's hot today in a couple of years when the price drops. |

Title: Re: 2009 on Dealer Showroom floor - Two Tone paint Post by firetruckredbike on 11/14/08 at 16:06:02 I spent *ahem* a little more than that at the stealership. ::) |
