Tail light was a hand me down,...but you can find 'em on Ebay etc...LED.  Slim cat's eye...
Light and plate mount,...I fashioned from an old street sign, ...sheet aluminum...cut and bend to taste...  Nuttin' fancy, a hacksaw and a vise...real good heavy aluminum stock.

Glad you like....

Thanks for all the help/info/tips on here. You guys and gals are spectacular. When I got my first Savage about four years ago I lived on these forums and learned much.

On a side note, Shadowman (Roger) is a great guy. Thanks for the generosity; hopefully the Karma will swing back around.http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-snc1/v350/240/106/584605773/n584605773_1595224_8785.jpg

Nope, 5'2"...BTW - I already had the link on my signature, but last night when trying to post the picture I got an error message several times stating that my 175KB pic is 3356 kilobytes, and would not allow it to post. Thanks for putting the pic in for me, Verslagen1.

Thanks, it's hard to get leathers that fit me. I guess the cycle clothing companies don't think many girls ride in size 2 petite! The pic was on the Plaza in Santa Fe, where I live. That particular picture has the old Governor's Palace in the background. Beautiful city, with great mountain roads to ride on nearby, and not much traffic or many cops to slow you down. About 330 days of sunshine a year here, so lots of good riding weather.

Doby is on a naked Goldwing, behind me in that pic. It was a Toys for Tots run, so the bikes were close together at the starting line.

My picture is from last Christmas. They are already gone now. If an oncoming car from an intersection can't see the bike, my lights, and my white helmet, they aren't going to avoid hitting me because of the little reflectors.

My 2001 is about as stock as they come, as far as running gear goes.  Since I don't own a cage, my Savage is a daily rider.  Here's a pic taken as I was getting ready to go to the post office.  I had just sold my ST1100 seat on eBay.

Not really much actually. It only took me about 5 miles to get used to it. I can't turn as tight as the stock configuration but still tight enough to flick through traffic when I need to.

Actually, the rake is still the stock rake, I didn't do anything to the frame. I got the front end off of e-bay, it is just longer than the stock fork tubes is all. I haven't measured it, so I can't really tell you what the length is. I will measure it in a little while and get back to you on that.

I could increase the rake by making some slightly extended bars for the lower tree if I wanted to and still not have to touch the frame itself.

I am new to the Savage and its style. My last bike was a sport - tourer. This is a 1986. The only thing I have done so far is to change the pullback style bars to straight bars. Future mods to come.

Heres my 2001. I've added windshield, and have new Flame Mirrors and new saddlebags coming soon.

My 2004 Savage (gone but not forgotten!)

My 2005 C50

And, like many other FSO's, I'm keeping craigslist and cycletrader handy.  I want another Savage....

(There are days I think I should have just gone ahead and overhauled the engine on my old one......)
