I know where the Pilot Jet is and have replaced the Main Jet to a 155, huge huge difference.

I want to replace the pilot jet and know where it is but do not know what tool is needed to take it out as the main jet sticks down screws out but the pilot jet does not and is up a hole.

Help me out please and recommend if you can the best size to move to in order to get the best benefit and possibly eliminate the backfire.

Well, a 155 main is pretty big, hope you have done some mods and are at sea level.
The pilot is a common flat-blade screwdriver tip. You might as well buy the replacement one before you take the old one out, and you can get a good look at the blade slot then. Stock US model is 52.5# pilot, if you want to try bigger go to 55#.

A good indicator of overall jetting is the weather...if popping/backfiring increases on humid days, or at higher elevation, that indicates rich....less popping on those days indicates lean.

To test the main, accelerate from 30 or 40 mph, in 4th or 5th gear at full throttle for several seconds, then reduce throttle by about 1/8,...if power increases for a second, you are lean on the main jet. Go up one jet size and test again.

I actually ended up going smaller on the pilot to a 50#.
150 main jet, 50 pilot jet (I'm at 2600ft and ride up to 9000ft, ) works for me.

If I am thinking of the right location, then a very very small flat blade would be needed like the phillips ones used to fix glasses. I have some but want to make sure now I have the right location.

I have only removed the white spacer, added k&n pop in filter and removed the airbox door.

The main jet now gets my bike, which only went to almost 90 before to 95-100 and faster than before.

Yes, it's a pretty narrow hole, and set up in there a bit,...but use the sturdiest blade that you can get to fit up there, to reduce the chance of chinkering up the soft brass...

Did it today,

Take the carb off the bike, makes it very much easier cause you can see what your doing.

Normally you don't take off the carb to changes the high and low speed jets.

Unless you need to clean the carb, you don't need to remove the carb from the bike. Use a small mirror if you need to see under the carb. Buy a small standard screwdriver, about 1/8" tip. Replace the float bowl srews with Allen head bolts. Makes it easier to remove.

Use an impact driver to remove the top screws when you do the spacer mod. You may have to weasel the carb around to get this done. They run about $10 at Sears. Replace the screws.
