Title: Re-painting the gas tank
Post by shermeco on 08/30/08 at 16:28:25

I was made an offer to have my gas tank air brushed for the cost of the paint  so i want to put a new base coat of the yellow my bike all ready is so my underlining question is what should I do to repaint the tank?
The reason I want it repainted is because were the gas cap is are black streaks and where the stock stickers were are lines

Here are a couple of links that seem to provide some good info. I don't have any experience in painting the Savage. I did paint an old Honda CB, many moons ago. Stripped it to bare metal, primed it, and finished off with a rattle can. It looked pretty good. Good enough that I sold it for what I paid for it after riding it for a year.
